Establishing international business support for regional start-ups
Background: The Global Links project was initiated by a life-science cluster organization to support the international commercialization phase of start-up companies. Conlega was contracted for project management, strategy development and implementation.
Approach: By assessing business networks locally, we identified international partners with the right experience, market presence and track record. These partners were then further assessed for their ability to introduce new technology and product concepts to their local life-science market.
Results: Results show that this method offered a fast track to international markets for early start-ups. Several business discussions and collaboration agreements have been initiated. Based on this method, the cluster organization can now offer their member companies support that has a direct impact on their revenues.
